- Your school gives you your KD Essence account. Use it only for your own school work, children or job.
- Keep your password private, and do not try to see anyone else's records.
- Fees are paid to your school, and your school handles refunds.
- How we handle your data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
1. About these terms
These terms cover the KD Essence school platform: the website at app.kdessence.com and the KD Essence apps for Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows and Mac (together, "the service"). By signing in or using the service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
Your school also has its own agreement with KD Essence and its own school rules. Those apply as well.
2. Your account
- Accounts are created by your school for students, parents, teachers, school staff and gate or bus checkers. The apps have no public sign-up.
- Keep your password and sign-in codes private. You are responsible for what is done with your account. If you think someone else has used it, change your password and tell your school.
- Your school can change your role, or close your account (for example when a pupil leaves or a staff member stops working there).
- Pupils under 18 should use the service with the knowledge of their parent or guardian and as their school directs.
3. Using the service properly
You must not:
- try to see, change or download records you are not allowed to see, or use someone else's account;
- upload anything illegal, abusive, hateful, sexual or harmful, or anything you do not have the right to share;
- bully, threaten or harass anyone through messages or other features;
- attack, overload, scan or copy the service, or try to get around its security;
- use the service to send spam or adverts.
We or your school may suspend an account that breaks these rules.
4. School records and content
- Lessons, notes, results and other content belong to the school or to the person who made them. You may use them for your own learning or for your child's.
- Your school is responsible for what it records, including results, attendance, fees and health details. If something looks wrong, ask your school to correct it.
5. Fees and payments
- School fees, canteen top-ups and other school charges are owed to your school, not to KD Essence.
- Online card payments are handled by Paystack. Any online payment charge is shown before you pay.
- Bank transfers are confirmed by the school after it checks the proof you upload.
- Questions about amounts, discounts or refunds go to your school.
6. Notifications
The service sends emails and push notifications about your school. KD Essence does not send SMS text messages. You can turn notifications off in your settings or on your device.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service running and safe. It may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We may improve or change features over time, and the app may ask you to update to a newer version.
8. Liability
The service is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, KD Essence is not responsible for indirect losses, or for mistakes in records entered by a school. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law that cannot be limited.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using the service at any time and ask for your account to be deleted: in the app, at https://app.kdessence.com/account/delete, or by emailing contacts@kdessence.com. Our Privacy Policy explains what happens next.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
